Registered for the first time in Romania in 1992, P&G started selling its products here in 1993, and opened its first office in the region in Bucharest in 1994.

Over the 20 years since its registration in Romania, Procter & Gamble’s businesses have increased considerably by the developing production and export activities, supported by the Urlati / Prahova county plant, by the development of distribution and of brands, who have reached top positions in their categories, by financial and know-how investments in marketing, media market, advertising agencies and many others.

Procter & Gamble is present in Romania with three legal entities covering a wide range of activities, from the actual production, to marketing and distribution activities: Procter & Gamble Marketing Romania (coordinating the marketing activities for South East Europe markets), Procter & Gamble Distribution SRL (coordinating products distribution), Detergenti SA (manufacturing hair care products in Urlati).

As of 2006, Procter & Gamble has opened a Regional Service Center in Romania, in charge of attending the P2P needs of all P&G offices in Europe.

In the past years P&G’s footprint in Romania became more and more stable, as a result of a development strategy that has at its’ core the consumer and her/his needs, but also as a result of a well-known, diversified and innovative brands portfolio, very appreciated in Romania. These results are supported by P&G consistently following its guiding principles: i) understanding and satisfying consumers' needs; ii) providing high quality products able to satisfy such needs; iii) constant wish to build a stable, long term local business, demonstrated by the quality of P&G local organization, by its partnership with other Romanian companies and by its positive impact on the community as a whole.

Procter & Gamble’s portfolio includes well known brands, appreciated by consumers throughout the entire world, and by Romanian consumers as well, such as: Ariel, Tide, Bonux, Lenor, Mr. Proper, Fairy, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Blend-a-med, Always, Pampers, Gillette, Braun, Oral-B, and many others. P&G’s activity focuses on understanding consumers’ needs and covering their requests by high quality and valuable products.
