ABSL Letter to Metrorex – Closing of Aurel Vlaicu and Pipera stations for modernisation

//ABSL Letter to Metrorex – Closing of Aurel Vlaicu and Pipera stations for modernisation

ABSL wrote an open letter to Metrorex, related to the intention of closing the two metro stations in the northern part of the Bucharest, in the same time, during this summer.

Initial Press Release from Metrorex, announced that both Pipera and Aurel Vlaicu metro stations were planned to be closed for modernisation of the access control systems, during July 20 – 27, in the same week.

This action would have caused major disruption in our employees reaching the office premises, therefore, using ABSL voice, we have approached Metrorex and the City Hall of Bucharest directly through this Open Letter.

As a response, Metrorex changes the plans and the deployment of the construction work is done in consecutive weeks, rather than simultaneously, as follows:

  • Pipera station – closed between 15 – 21 of July 2017
  • Aurel Vlaicu – closed between 29 July – 4 August 2017

This is good news for us already. Yet the contingency plans should be made, by each company, as the access will suffer during the two weeks: either to encourage employees to take vacations, or organising some travel sharing facilities, or any options that can ease the weight of traffic that period of time.
