It all started when we less expected, from a tiny particle that was about to change our lives in such a measure that our world turned upside down. The reverberations of Covid-19 pandemic can be felt in all the fields of activity from business to education, from economy to gender equality, from social care to climate action, and on every corner of the world.

The pandemic has hit the pause button on business as usual and forced the mankind to readapt, rethink and reevaluate the way of working. We learned to readapt in a hurry to the future of work: we fast forwarded the digitalization, automatization and WFH was no longer seen as a benefit.

After almost a year of continuing to discover new things and adapting to them, we can definitely say that the world of work, as we knew it, will never be the same again.

What will our work life will look like? What is the future of our offices and how will we reinvent their purposes? Are the employees finding the right work-life balance and how the companies can ensure their wellbeing? Do they have the right skills to dive into the future? WFO, WFH and WFA are here to stay, but how we will manage them? What are the right solutions for maintaining your corporate culture?

We invite you to find the answers to these questions from our experts and your peers in a unique Business Mixer Month with opened sessions every week.

We’ll keep the tradition and dedicate to the local industry closed round table sessions in order to strengthen the community and facilitate the sharing of best practices.

The Butterfly Effect of Coronavirus may redefine the work landscape but it’s up to turn this into a new starting point that will help us grow.

Telework in the post COVID-vaccine era. How will the labor market look after the pandemic?

When COVID-19 restrictions are eventually lifted, employers and workers must decide how much to continue telework. Many will fear going to work, and the share of people working primarily from home will remain elevated. Even after full vaccination, with the economy at full capacity, teleworking rates are likely to remain well above pre-pandemic rates, with major economic and real estate implications. Post-pandemic, the labor market may look very different.
Key topics:

• Can, and should employers, require employee vaccination?
• Back to office or teleworking on the long haul? For many people, telework is the new normal and the choice is clear. According to researches, more than half said that, given the option, they would want to keep working from home even after the pandemic.
• How does the legal framework support teleworking or a hybrid work model?
• What fiscal facilities are granted to employers?

The Impact of COVID-19 on the Finance Function

“The Impact of COVID-19 on the Finance Function” report, which surveyed 1,481 accounting and financial professionals – provides a snapshot into three main areas of focus:

• The impact of the pandemic on organizations, staffing, and compensation
• The way the pandemic changed the skills needed in finance and the ability for workers to upskill accordingly
• The changing priorities of the finance function around the world

The survey found that the pandemic has predictably lessened compensation and employment. Most of the survey respondents have had a reduction in their compensation this year, whether in salary, bonus, or both. Further, approximately half of the companies surveyed have let a portion of their staff go. The hardest hit companies were those in the tourism, travel, and hospitality industry, and those with more than $10 billion in revenue.
There was significant concern among survey respondents as to whether their current skills will be relevant in the post-COVID-19 era. As a result, there has been an uptick in professionals working to gain new skills: 75% of the accounting and finance professionals surveyed are enhancing their job skills, including cost management, decision support, and performance management.

Shaping the future of work for a better world

The corporate mindset was already shifting, but the pandemic has now hastened the realization that work is not somewhere you go, but something you do. And it is the workforce – empowered by technology and demanding improved sustainability and individual well-being – who is now driving and accelerating change. As a result, enterprises are more focused than ever on their number one investment: people. In envisaging what the new world of work will look like, it has become clear that real estate is enabling work, workforce and workplace (the 3Ws), the three key dimensions of any successful business strategy.

Employee Engagement in the Digital Transformation Era

What does engagement look like in the digital era and how can you improve it in your organization?
Most digital transformations fail, often due to a lack of alignment and adoption. Changing behaviors, requires communication every step of the way. It’s not enough for your communications platform to communicate—it needs to drive adoption of all your technology, so your workforce uses what you’ve invested in.
Since no one holds the universal answer to this heavy question, we intend to uncover more business insights that will get us closer to practical business approaches and answers, in a debate organized where we would like to see you joining in.

Care for Life Office Concept

It is a quick explainer of how our buildings are going to function during these new times. You’ll find a few solutions prepared to make you feel safer. And smile more! Even if it’s hidden under the mask.
