“E” in ESG in practical terms

Manuela Özdemir is an experienced professional in commercial development and sustainability who joined Skanska Romania team in 2018, as a Project Leader. With over 15 years within the industry, Manuela held different positions in managing commercial and residential projects.
Starting February 2021, Manuela has been promoted as Project Manager, leading the project management activities for future Skanska projects in Romania. In collaboration with Romania Green Building Council, she contributed to the development of the first Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, which is an add-on performance-based certification, that complements other existing certifications such as LEED, GREEN HOMES, BREEAM, WELL and is the most comprehensive certification scheme of its kind, applicable to buildings with varied functions, from commercial to industrial and residential.
Manuela successfully contributed to the development of Campus 6.2 & 6.3 projects, acting as Key Account Coordinator for the contract management of 23,000 sqm leased by Microsoft Romania. She also leaded the complex WELL Certification process, obtaining the first two WELL Core & Shell certifications at Gold level for these projects. Campus 6.2 & 6.3 are now the first projects in Romania having all three prestigious certifications: LEED Platinum, WELL C&S Gold and WELL Health – Safety Rating.
Manuela has an increased focus on sustainable solutions, bringing added value to our projects and our customers.
In her career, Manuela acquired experience in all stages of construction project management, either commercial or residential developments, both locally and abroad, in the UK.
She has graduated from Technical Construction University of Bucharest. She is a very good communicator, being a team player and enjoying working with diverse teams.
