Georgiana Brudaru, National Delivery Manager – Gi Group Romania

My name is Georgiana Brudaru, and I am part of the Gi Group team as National Delivery Manager. My experience within Gi Group started 6 years ago as a Recruitment Consultant and during this period I was successively promoted to the roles of Branch Manager – Bucharest and then National Delivery Manager.

Gi Group Holding is a global ecosystem of integrated HR Services that aims to evolve and improve the Labour Market by creating sustainable, social and economic value, emphasising the personal and social value of work. Headquartered in Milan, Italy, the Group operates in 30 countries around the world, coordinates the work of more than 6,000 employees, and provides support to business partners by offering accurate information on the labour market. The new holding company – through all its key brands – provides services to around 20,000 companies and generates revenues of 3.3 billion euros, making it the fifth-largest company in Europe and the 16th-largest in the world.

How did you start your career? Which were your first steps? How did you envision your career?

I was always looking for social interaction, and the idea of working with and being around people—and the possibility of actually adding value to their professional development—was how everything started. Although I graduated in a slightly different area, I always had an interest in Human Resources and looked for certifications and courses available on the market to build a knowledge base to set my start in HR.

My first steps in my career were in HR; I started as an HR Specialist/Generalist in one of the biggest companies in Iasi. There, I was fortunate to learn about and understand the importance of an HR department in the company ecosystem. I was involved in different projects, ranging from evaluation projects to employer branding to personal development and training.

My next challenge was when I joined the Gi Group Team, where I had the opportunity to get a better grasp of the recruitment area.

I knew that by joining Gi Group, a company that offered their services and knowledge to their clients, I would be challenged and also have the opportunity to work at the highest standards—in order to be able to satisfy our clients’ needs at a known professional standard.

What were your key career moments?

The key moment that had a big impact on my professional journey was when I had the opportunity to take on the Branch Manager role for the Bucharest team within Gi Group. This was my first role as a manager, and of course, at the beginning, I was a bit overwhelmed by the idea and at the same time really excited to give my best to my team. This came easier than I thought because I always had the support of the Gi Group team on my journey as a manager, and I was lucky enough to have a team with high potential and really dedicated, all these things made working and achieving our objectives a lot easier.

What are the three most valuable career lessons you have learnt?

We are all people before anything else. A people-centred organisation is built starting with people and always adding the opportunity to grow within the company. So, from the CEO to the doorman, all of us are equally important, and we’re all one of the tiny pieces that make this complex and sensitive mechanism work.

I would say never stop learning and step up when the opportunity prevails—these were my go-to thoughts and helped me in my career.

Why did you choose Business Services Industry? What were the top 3 reasons for choosing your company?

Gi Group is a company that encourages promoting their internal employees in a real way, and by doing that, they are actually validating your skills and all your talents. The constant exposure to clients’ needs, challenges you to be more and more professional in your work and also helps you get a wider view of the entire business environment. I always felt that Gi Group was a big growing change in my career, and I think this is one of those things that defines us and separates us in the labour market.

The new company slogan is: WeChangeLives and it’s true for both internal employees and our candidates.

Tell us a little bit about your private life: your passions, family. What do you do to relax?

I happily share my role as an employee with my new role as a mommy, and although sometimes it’s an extremely big challenge to exceed and do your best at both, I feel I have a good balance between them that keeps me happy and satisfied.

Music is one of my biggest passions, and I took advantage of every opportunity to express myself through it. In my spare time, I’m a part of a band as their vocal lead singer.

When I want to relax, I enjoy reconnecting with nature, running away from the busy city, and enjoying the beauties our country has to offer.

If now you were starting your career, knowing the present and near future opportunities, what would you do?

I believe that HR is something that defines me and I was inspired enough to make the right changes at the right time. I would say just be confident and do what’s right for you.

What are the top 3 skills that you would develop?

I believe that the top 3 skills for your growth both personally and professionally are:

  • being proactive and involved;
  • being responsible – take it on and make it happen;
  • always be curious and never stop learning.
