Iuliana Leurent, CEO – TempsHR
I’m Iuliana Leurent, CEO at TempsHR (HR Consultancy) since 2016. Based on my previous business consultancy background, I stepped into HR “world” in 2008 and continued ever since to learn and experience, linking the human factor to business dynamics. These last 7 years reshaping and reinvesting in TempsHR, we expanded it to a business of multimillion EUR. It has been amazing to build specific HR-integrated services for white-collar professionals. Passion and determination to build a higher value-added service brought out in the top 10 agencies, making an impact through a consultative and trustful approach.
How did you start your career? Which were your first steps? How did you envision your career?
My professional career started in my first University year in 1997 on a family settlement to trade-off for “my financial independence”. I definitely also choose right in order to like it and find a challenge within. The best learning from my first job was about “what I do not want to do”. Ever since, my professional life has been a continuous process of discovery, inspired by both people and objectives. I understood quite early that the meaning for me is an alignment of shared values, challenges, and rewards. I still live beautiful emotions, remembering moments I have been through and realised how I have grown and changed with every experience. 😊
What were your key career moments?
Every career step has had a great impact and key use in my professional journey. I have special gratitude both for those who have been nice to me but also for those who have felt wrong… they both have revealed and taught me something. In every job accepted, there has been a project to build or reach new ways to add value. Creating together has been the best way to value both relationships and personal experience.
What are the three most valuable career lessons you have learnt?
People are people, with personal agenda and their own truth. Accept then agree as much as you can do it kindly.
Life is not a competition. Self-discipline is the only way to grow. So, practise, practise, practise.
Why did you choose Business Services Industry? What were the top 3 reasons for choosing your company?
Since teenager, I have lived in an entrepreneurial environment, where family talks were filled with struggles, determination, joys, and frustrations focused on building their “way up”. Familiarity with the aspects of business life made me an inner observer; this, in time, transformed into a skill that followed me in every job opportunity I have had. I chose to join the TempsHR team because there were so many things to build on and an opportunity to probe and learn in a very authentic environment. There have been 7 years, and I am deeply proud of my team and all the results we reached. There has been a lot of determination, self-development, and enthusiasm in delivering “client delight”.
Tell us a little bit about your private life: your passions, family. What do you do to relax?
Seeing my son growing and transforming into the teenager he is today has been a very rewarding joy. I am deeply proud of him and also of us, for succeeding in building a trustful relationship. My whole family feels like a gift, very rich in experiences, opinions, and choices in life. My passions are ways to recharge, ventilate, and create. I especially love reading, all kinds of sports, gardening, cooking, and travelling. I love to find an anima in everything I do.
If now you were starting your career, knowing the present and near future opportunities, what would you do?
I would start by understanding what am I good at, the context in which I can perform best, and how I can relate closely to inspiring people. It is important to learn to identify joy in everything we do, no matter how comfortable that is. Finding your higher purpose will help you build inner motivation and reinforce resilience and discipline.
