Mihaela Maranca, General Manager, Randstad Romania
- What was the most challenging thing your company, people, and you, personally, had to face in 2020?
Trust, agility, strong mindset – these are the three characteristics I felt were challenged mostly in 2020 in my team and among our clients. I usually am in a strong, healthy contact with the rational evaluation of a situation. This proved to be of much help for me and my colleagues at Randstad Romania. We all needed a strong pillar to rely on and having access to Randstad best practices around the world for sure was more than a pillar, it was an important foundation on which we built our adapting strategy, with the local twist, of course.
- What pleasantly surprised you last year? / What are you grateful for?
I am a big fan of people; their incredible resilience and solidarity pleasantly surprised me. Development and growth come when we get out of our comfort zone and for sure 2020 pulled us all out of our limits. I am grateful for that, and for all the evolution that came with that intense change – we trained our flexibility, our creativity. Now I feel our abilities are in maximum shape and their development continues!
- What are your plans and expectations for 2021?
We are ready to welcome the new normal. I like to say the better normal. Overall, we plan to keep our leadership position on the Romanian market, bringing the best up to date solutions from Randstad group and raising the bar of our local team to champion recruitment consultants.
- What do you foresee it will be different this year and what impact it will have on our industry/Romania/your company/your people?
The studies and reports that Randstad constantly makes to take the global and local market pulse show encouraging data for 2021. On the employers’ side, we expect companies to invest more in their employer brand and social responsibility programs, to be more open to the voice of their people. Winning companies are investing in the tech, data, processes, and people to enable speed through better decisions and faster course corrections based on what they learn. On the talents side, we expect to identify more easily valuable people which are open to undertake new job offers.
- What is your message for the ABSL community?
“If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” says an African proverb. Community is one of the winning concepts in 2021. Let’s make ours matter – for our businesses, our clients and for the society we grow our children in.
- What could we do to grow stronger as a community?
I think you are on the winning track. Keep us the pace of your dynamic approach, which keeps your members active and involved!
