ABSL marks ten years on the Romanian market by awarding the most creative projects in the industry
ABSL (Association of Business Service Leaders) marked its 10 years presence on the Romanian market, through an event attended by over 200 people. Also, during the Gala which is at its 7th edition, ABSL awarded the most creative projects in the industry.
The business services industry has continued to grow. If in 2008, the business services industry contributed with 1.8% to the GDP, in 2021 the contribution was 5.4%, ranking in the top 4 industries after the contribution to GDP. The contribution to GDP is the highest compared to other EU countries where industry is developed.
Revenues generated last year were of 9 billion euros, with approximately 180,000 employees working in these companies.
“2022 is a year of resettlement, of reorganizing life, both for people and for corporations. The two successive crises (n.r. pandemic and the war in Ukraine) have significantly affected our personal and professional lives, and the global economic circuits and geo-political balance have also been severely disrupted. Our industry continues the upward trend. About 70% of ABSL member companies reported higher employee productivity compared to 2020, while 25% reported similar productivity to the pre-pandemic. The companies awarded at the Gala demonstrate performance, in a difficult economic context, which is constantly changing “, says Cătălin Iorgulescu, ABSL Vice President.
The “Business Leaders in Business Excellence” category, which rewards the results obtained and the profitability, is won by Microsoft Romania. The company’s project aimed to launch in 2019 a “hub” of Account Manager dedicated to small and medium customers in the EMEA. Today, the Romanian team has 200 people, while two other centers have been opened in Jordan and Portugal, following the model of the one here. Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Colt Technology Services were ranked 2nd, and British American Shared Services won the third place.
The “Business Leaders in Business Innovation” category rewards creativity, the most important feature of the business services industry, as demonstrated by the three winning companies, namely HP INC Romania, Wipro Technologies and Genpact.
1CPQ, the first place, developed by HP INC Romania, is a digital transformation project that develops an integrated quotation platform to help HP sales teams and partners create quotes faster, in many cases, in minutes instead of hours or even days.
The “Business Leaders in Customer Experience” category rewards the best solutions found by companies to improve services and customer relations.
Webhelp’s Game Changers project has shown that the impossible can become possible. The company recruited and integrated 81 people into a home work environment in about 4 weeks, while maintaining the same level of experience as a world leader in the digital commerce industry.
2nd and 3rd places were won by Wipro Technologies Romania and Valoris Center.
Microsoft Romania also won the “Business Leader in Talent Development & Education” category award for its involvement in the Innovation Lab program dedicated to the start-ups in the technology field, a program developed by students. The 2nd place was won by Veeam Software, and the 3rd place by Wipro Technologies Romania and HP INC Romania.
The winners of the CSR category were Societe Generale Global Solution Center, followed by Vodafone Romania Technologies and Microsoft Romania.
